I shall construct a new storyline

My main character (to keep this RP alive I hope) will be a fail new substitute shinigami. She is a kid/brat in high-school that will have issues and has a peeve with her height. She'll be holding Ichigo's dormant soul within her. Her zanpakuto will be a fire elemental one.

I just want a functioning storyline, not a floundering one.

Why, having over four chara's makes the storyline unfunctional? I don't think so in my opinion.

If everyone has too many characters then the storyline can't be streamlines, people keep wandering off and doing their own things and people lose track of things, forget their own characters and other peoples and get confused. Look how drawn out the final scene of this season became, purely because of the number of characters.

So, that's the fun part about it.
Having just one or two characters isn't very fun because it limits what you can get involved in in the RP. But that's just me.

Yes, it would be nice to be involved in a bit of everything, but imagine if everyone had at least one character in every scene, there would be about a hundred characers wandering around with not enough to do. You have to consider the overall scheme of things and prioritise.

I know, I'm saying that it shouldn't be unlimited characters, but maybe up to 5, intead of just 1 or 2. That way, like you said, there won't just be random charas that have never been used.

So... You're saying we should put a limit in that conveniently allows you to do precisely what you want and won't limit anyone else when we already have characters that don't appear to contribute to the story?

It isn't a petty argument about nothing, it is about the RPs we all use. And, if you look, the rukes regarding it are already establihsed. Arguing for more now is irrelevant.
