Personality: Akira doesn't really speak unless he needs to. He's very loyal though and will do anything to protect his squad and the Soul Society. He hates people who act all high and mighty, as well as loud mouths, although he can be a bit full of himself too. He enjoys watching the sun set, and eating chocolate pocky. He also looks up to Byakuya, and hopes to become as great a captain as him someday.

Background: Akira grew up in the Rukongai, and had a very rough life as all souls do tha grow up there. He would always steal things from vendors, but would always end up getting caught. They would punish him by beating him, to the point that he would have many broken bones. One day though, a kind woman found him like this and decided to take him in. She treated him very kindly, almost as if he were her own son. At first though, he didn't really trust her, and acted cold towards her. But soon enough, he grew very fond of her and looked up to her as if she were his mother. One day though, this all changed. A hollow had appeared in the Rukongai, and had Akira cornered. It was about to kill him when his 'mother' stepped in front of him to protect him, and ended up being killed instead. Moments later, some shinigami appeared and killed the hollow. After witnessing this, he vowed that he would get stronger, and soon he enrolled in the academy. He excelled in all his classes, and graduated at the top of his class. After a few years, he was made a shingami and was appointed as the Lieutenant of the 6th Division of the 2nd Gotei.
