Personality: Moriko is very sweet and kind, but very shy when you first meet her. But once one gets to know her, she opens up to them.

Background: Back when Moriko was still in the academy, she didn't have very many friends for the other students despised her just because she was Toushirou's younger sister. But on her first day, she met a girl by the name of Saki and the two became the best of friends. They both excelled in their classes and were soon assigned to the 2nd Division, Saki being the Lieutenant and Moriko being the 4th Seat Officer. As life as a Shinigami went on, Aizen soon found out about the demon inside of her. He said that he could get rid of it for her and so he did. It was a long and painful process, but it she was finally rid of her curse. Later on, they both proved their worth and were made Captains.
As the battle against Aizen raged on, Moriko was pitted against an Espada by the name of Rai. While the two fought, they soon noticed that when one was injured, they both felt they were connected to each other somehow, but what? Baffled by this, Aizen decided to finally reveal the truth. They were each the other half of the each other's soul, Aizen had used the demon that was once inside her to create Rai. If one was killed then, the other would die as well. After hearing this, the two decided to cease their fight, and Rai soon joined the Shinigamis' side. After the downfall of Aizen, things returned to normal, and Rai now hangs around the Seireitei along with Moriko and the others.
Relationships:
Rai: The other half of her soul, the two are complete opposites but amazingly get along quite well.
Toushirou: Her older brother, whom she is very close to and will do anything to protect. Oddly enough, even though she is younger, she's taller that he is, and she is often mistaken for the oldest.
Saki: Her closest friend, of whom she tells everything to.
Daichi: A good friend of hers, whom she met while he was on a mission.

Similar to Rukia's. When she release's it, a white ribbon appears at the end of her Zahnpaktoh and when she swings a rush of snow and ice rushes towards the enemey.
